Blendspace t.i.m.e.

1. Objective

After completing this module, the professional learner will be able to:

  1. Create and deliver dynamic, fun formative presentations/lessons on Blendspace.
  2. Share lessons with other teachers using Blendspace.
  3. Locate and utilize premade lessons on Blendspace.

We would like you to accomplish the tasks listed below.  If you need support, please consider the following resources:

3. Tasks

NOTE: this module works best when completed in pairs to witness the student experience.

  1. Visit and click “Login” (use your existing login, Google login, or create a new account)
  2. To Create a Class
    1. Click on “+Create Class” on the right-hand side of the website.
    2. Students can enroll into the class through “Join Class” on their Dashboard
    3. To modify the class, click on “Classes” and then the pencil icon next to the class name to change anything (you will need to hover your mouse for the icon to display).
  3. To Create a New Lesson:
    1. Click “+ New Lesson”
    2. Overwrite in “Enter the Lesson Title” and title your lesson
    3. Add a YouTube video using the bar on the right-hand side. Drag and drop resource into a tile.
    4. Add a Google image using the bar on the right-hand side. Drag and drop resource into a tile.
    5. Add a Google website using the bar on the right-hand side. Drag and drop resource into a tile.
    6. Add a 2 other choices using the bar on the right-hand side. Drag and drop resources into the tiles.
    7. You can move any of your resources by clicking and dragging it into another tile.
    8. Create a quiz in the final tile by placing your cursor over the tile and clicking on “”Add Quiz”. Add 5 multiple choice questions to your quiz (remember to give a correct answer)
    9. To view quiz results once students have completed the quiz, click back on the quiz in the tiles then click on “View Results” in the lower left-hand corner.
  4. Select “Play” to view the lesson
    1. To share with students click on “Share” and then choose the option you would like to use to share it with students.
    2. You can share this with a class directly by clicking on your class title in the share option.
  5. If you would like to create a lesson from public lesson:
    1. Click on the lesson that you would like to copy when searching in “Lessons Library”.
    2. Click on “Copy” in the top left corner of the lesson
    3. Rename the lesson if you wish and modify it as you wish.
    4. Share with the class by repeating the same directions in previous steps above.
  6. To collaborate with a colleague on a lesson:
    1. Click on “Share” in the lesson.
    2. Select “Collaborate”
    3. Type in email address of collaborator in the “Add a Co-Author” section.
  7. To change Privacy Settings:
    1. Click on “Share” on the lesson.
    2. Select “Privacy”
    3. Change privacy settings to the accessibility you want.
