“Technology has made my teaching a lot more interactive. It has given me more time to observe students learning and it allows them to take more control!”
Sara Mast is like many teachers that I meet. She works hard, is humble, and wants to squeeze out as much of her students’ potential as she can. Not surprisingly, she has integrated technology in a way that maximizes the time that she has with her students.
“Technology has made my teaching a lot more interactive. It has given me more time to observe students learning and it allows them to take more control!” – Sara Mast
What are some of the ways that they are taking more control?
“I really like using Edmodo and Kahoot! I use Edmodo to interact with all three of my classes (I teach all 4th grade students Science and Social Studies) by sending links to websites for lessons we may be working with as well as to communicate any classroom happenings. Kahoot is just a fun way to assess student knowledge with a little competition!” – Sara Mast
Sara’s advice to tech integration novices is applicable to lots of situations.
“My suggestion to a newby is to be patient, don’t be afraid to try new things, and ask a lot of questions! I am by no means an expert at technology, but I’m having fun trying and the kids love it.” – Sara Mast
