1. Objective

After completing this module, the professional learner will be able to:

  1. Deliver content (assignments, notes, and more) to students through Edmodo
  2. Store files and links in the Edmodo library
  3. Manage Edmodo groups and members

We would like you to accomplish the tasks listed below.  If you need support, please consider the following resources:

3. Tasks
    1. Create an Edmodo group and name it “Your Last Name_ Test”
      • Choose “9th grade” or higher for now to avoid the verification process
    2. Join the Edmodo groups of your colleagues and be sure at least two of them join your group
    3. Create an assignment and send it to your group members
      • Attach a file, link, and/or library item to your assignment before sending it
    4. Create a folder
      • Share the folder with your Edmodo group
      • Add a link to a website/resource of your choice to your folder
    5. Explore the group settings of your Edmodo group
      • Write a post as a note describing the group setting options you discovered and send the post to your Edmodo group members
    6. Explore the “Members” tab of your Edmodo group
      • Set one of your group members to “Read Only” and another to “Co-Teacher”
      • Now discuss with your colleagues how the “Read Only” and “Co-Teacher” settings change the type of member access inside an Edmodo group
      • Write a post describing the differences in access that you and your colleagues discovered and send it to your Edmodo group members

If you finish early, here are extension tasks to try:

    1. Create a demo student account and join your own group
      • As a student, turn in your assignment
      • As a student, make a comment to one of your posts
    2. Grade the student assignment submission, you will need to log back into your teacher account to do this
    3. Create a small group within your Edmodo group
      • Add members to your small group
    4. Explore one more feature of Edmodo that you haven’t investigated yet
      • Write a post in your small group describing what you learned from the feature you investigated.  What did you like about it?  What would you improve about it if you could?
