“They can send me an answer and feel that the whole class is not judging them. In turn, their confidence has sky-rocketed.”
When Bridgit Smith sees changes approaching, she doesn’t dip her toe in to test the water, she dives in head first. So it should comes as no surprise that Bridgit has been a pioneer when it comes to technology integration in South Haven Public Schools. While her tech integration accomplishments are many, two of her most impactful projects involved partnering her 2nd grade students with middle school and high school classes.
With the high school class, her students used Socrative and Google forms to “grade” high school students’ writing projects. With the middle school group, her students taught them the Educreations app and served as their tech consultants as they worked on Social Studies projects.
So how has integrating technology made a difference for Bridgit’s students?
“They are writing stories, publishing projects, making math problems in apps and games. They make schoolwide videos sharing how we behave at Lincoln. I also see more students taking chances. They can send me an answer and feel that the whole class is not judging them. In turn, their confidence has sky-rocketed.” – Bridgit Smith
Keep up the great work, Bridgit!
