WHAT IT IS:
A Walk & Talk is an active discussion strategy for getting students out of their seats and changing the scenery.
HOW IT WORKS:
The teacher provides a discussion prompt, question, or resource (such as an article or podcast) as well as a time limit. In partners, students go for a walk, either around the room or outside the classroom or even building, if possible, discussing the prompt or topic for the full time limit given.
For best success, the teacher should include some kind of sharing, reflection, or other accountability measure after the discussion. Students should have a clear objective for the discussion.
